UNM’s Division for Change and Empowerment (DiCE) works to enhance experiences of the faculty, staff, & students at UNM—at Central/Main/ABQ campus, HSC, and at our Branch campuses. DiCE seeks to expand opportunity & cultivate potential at UNM requires centering the community wealth of the peoples of New Mexico and beyond. DiCE prepared an action plan for building an inclusive culture at UNM and coordinating a University-wide strategy for enhancing out university climate and academic excellence. DiCE works to: (1) build robust pools for faculty and staff searches and provide resources to colleges and schools to create stronger pathways to tenure-track faculty positions; (2) coordinate college-level associate deans to address hiring and climate issues in units; (3) educate faculty & staff to be better mentors, supervisors, and colleagues to all students and employees; (4) administer a survey & disseminate a toolkits to help carry out appropriate interventions; (5) support targets of harassment and bullying; (6) enhance students’ wellbeing, academic success, and sense of belonging; (6) highlight accomplishments and support scholarship of all faculty and graduate students; and much more.
